My Brief

Pro only. A personalized re-rank of the Public Brief each morning, with an audio edition and a Daily Question.

What it is

My Brief is the personalized brief BestBlogs prepares for you each morning — a re-rank of the Public Brief shaped by your interest profile and Following.

Pro only.

Publishing cadence

  • Monday through Saturday: generated each morning, right after the Public Brief.
  • No Sunday edition: there's no brief on Sundays. Read Friday's Curated Newsletter or open Following for the live stream.

Beta-period publish times can drift slightly; the email / audio edition's actual arrival time in your inbox is the source of truth.

How it's generated

Two stacked layers:

  1. Public brief layer: each morning, scoring and dedup run across the global pool to surface 6–10 site-wide picks.
  2. Personalization layer: on top of the public brief, items are re-ranked using your six-dimensional interest profile, your Featured sources, and your last 7 days of reading behavior. Source Contribution items (picks that came from sources you follow) are surfaced first.

The result is typically 8–12 items — the extra few are uniquely yours, drawn from your interests or follows.

What's in each brief

Section Notes
Core picks Public-brief items plus your unique ones, each with a "why we recommend this"
Source contribution Marks which items came from your followed sources
Deep-read picks 1–2 long-form pieces worth slowing down for
Daily Question One open-ended prompt to connect the day's reads

Three formats

The feedback loop

Each item supports bookmark / highlight / not interested / follow or unfollow source:

  • Adjusts tomorrow's My Brief and For You order
  • Updates your source preference (sources you frequently mark "not interested" rank down)
  • Any valid interaction in a day counts toward your reading streak

To customize further:

  • Edit your interest tags under Settings → Interest profile
  • In Following, star important sources as Featured
