Curated Newsletter
A themed weekly digest published every Friday by the editorial team.
What it is
Curated Newsletter is the themed weekly published every Friday by the BestBlogs editorial team.
Unlike the fast-cadence Public Brief, the newsletter:
- Covers the entire past week's curated pool
- Centers on one or two themes (e.g. "The week of the Claude 4.7 release," "This week in AI coding")
- Adds an editorial intro + closing notes to give the picks a connected arc
- Gives each piece of further reading a longer recommendation paragraph
Publishing cadence
- Every Friday, on schedule.
- Occasionally, a special edition drops on a major event week — the in-page banner will note it.
What's in each issue
| Section | Notes |
|---|---|
| Editor's intro | An opening paragraph framing the week's theme |
| Core picks | 5–10 deep-read recommendations around the theme |
| Further reading | Adjacent picks worth scanning that don't fit the main theme |
| Editor's closing notes | One-line take on the week's overall direction |
Newsletter vs Topic
BestBlogs also publishes Topic pages as another public curation format. The difference:
| Format | Cadence | Structure |
|---|---|---|
| Curated Newsletter | Weekly, organized by time | Editorial intro + curated picks |
| Topic | Around an event or domain, updated long-term | One-line summary / timeline / multi-perspective takes / further reading |
Mnemonic: the newsletter answers "what mattered this week," topics answer "everything around this one thing."
